Most probably, it is an excerpt from GG's trascription of 
Bruckner's String Quintet.  The same passage is heard in
the special interview CD  "At Home with Glenn Gould", 
which is available if you are a member of Friends of 
Glenn Gould Society (but it might be out of stock now).
It is in the track 19:  the duration is only 1 minute 3 seconds.
