Put me down for a ticket to GG's Salzburg Festival concert in '59.

Hello Ann:

Since this is all hypotethical I have 2 answers for you.

If I was a fan of him, someone who didn't know him at all I would
definetely go because I learn from going to artists concerts.
Besides, even when he said he disliked public performances, for non being
able to fix a finger slip (among other reasons), I would assume he would
be amazing even when we all know little things happen to even the greatest
performers. He was definetely such a perfectionist and public performances
are not perfect. And I would definitely want to see the infamous Brahms D
minor concerto.

If I had had the opportunity to know him personally as a good friend,
maybe I wouldn't go, because then it would be different. However if I was
still dying to go, I would do what he did once to watch a conductor. I
would go to the concert but somehow sneak in the light section or the room
where they record it, so I wouldn't be part of the audience, but I would
still watch him and listen to him. And I would still choose Brahms.
