Hi Anne and all, I have "The Art of Glenn Gould." Has very informative articles by and interviews with GG. The Kazdin book -- I have never had the privilege (?) of working with a genius. Must be hard. Andrew Kazdin seems to have had his arse in a knot when he wrote this book. He made some very petty comments. He was hurt because GG didn't give him a Christmas present. From what I've hurt, GG didn't even notice events like Christmas. The Jock Carroll book is beautiful. I have seen people quote from the Glenn Gould Reader. Is it still available? Are there any new GG biographies in the offing? I remember hearing there were plans for a biography that was actually (gasp!) written by someone who appreciated The Solitude Trilogy. Well it's about time...
Since there are a lot of new people on the list, can I ask for opinions of the following biographies and related works?...
Selected Letters
The Glenn Gould Reader
The Idea of Gould
The Art of Glenn Gould
That coffee table book with oodles of pictures released shortly after GG's death
The Friederich Biography
The Ostwald Biography
The Kazdin Book
Kevin Bazanna's Book
Jock Carroll's book of GG photographs (which I want!)
The German book of GG photographs
