Er...when has Bach ever been forgotten since the mid-1800's
(Bach-Gesellschaft, etc.)?  And the keyboard music never went out of
fashion.  For example, Czerny's edition of the Well-Tempered Clavier is a
written record of the way his teacher (Beethoven) played it.
