Desert Island Discs (DID), for many years presided over by Roy Plomley
who is now sadly dead. A well-known woman interviewer took his place but
I cannot remember her name, not having lived in England for many years.
And wasn't it 8 recordings? I'm not sure, but each interview took an hour
so 10 might have been too many.

I used to listen to DID every week in the 50s and 60s, and also heard it
from time to time when I returned to UK on leave, but not once do I
recall GG being requested. Others may have different memories. It
certainly was (is) a delightful programme, the sort of thing GG might
have taken to, perhaps.
