Re: Callas-Gould Review

Ah, yes. Sigh. The Callas-Gould review.

APRIL FOOL'S DAY (or as they say in French "Poisson D'Avril" (April
Fish!)).

This is (unfortunately for us) an april fool's joke. Also, there is one
other email posting someone made many years back about a newly
discovered recording of GG and Sergiu Celibidache in London, UK. This
also is an April Fool's Joke. I spent several days wasted on the
Internet trying to research that one further!

Sorry for the bad news. Yes, acts of sabotage like this to Gouldians
such as ourselves should be punishable by 40 years in prison (or at the
very least, having to listen to all of the Mozart Sonatas on
Fast-Forward mode on your CD player...!).

Cheers,
Matthew

I wonder if this might have been a strange and
elaborate April Fool's joke (of the sort Gould might
well have relished).

Though my French is deficient at best, it seems the
quotations are especially whimsical.
