yup, I had to ask this because all musicians I know that are not craftsmen are
busy almost entirely with music. Dominic's statement about Gould being busy with
something else was surprising, although, as he wrote, it wasn't unbelievable
that GG didn't really need to play every day to keep up the form. But there's
more about music in the life of a musician (who is not a craftsman) than keeping
up the skills - it's playing it for its own sake, because it rocks. So I get the
impression that music, including playing it, occupied the larger part of GG's
life.
